Here Ya go..

One of the greatest things about doing your own show is being able to come up with an idea and just do it...no committees or arguments or months to make a decision.We try to do things for the show that we would want if we were attending Born Free instead of actually putting on the show. The first year we planned it in a month and it was a great turn out..free beer, food and cool bikes. Year two..we gave away a 1950 Panhead , closed down a city street and supplied the 1000's who attended free beer and free food,we had greats bikes, a cool vibe and people attended from all over the world...Then came Born Free 3, we moved the show to a killer spot in the country ( Oak Canyon Ranch), we had the Garage company( Kiyo ) build a 1946 Knucklehead and gave it away,did a builder invite,had 1000's of unbelievable bikes from all over the place ,tons of people,great vibes & all for Free.... Now it's time for Born Free 4. We are staying at the beautiful Oak Canyon Ranch and to start off we are building & and will be giving away 2 1969 HD Shovelheads( chopper by the Garage Co & Kiyo & a nice classic stocker) that will go home with a new owner or owners, we have 22 talented guys in the invited builder show,we will have more bands, more vendors,more food & drinks and a few surprises too. What else can we do? A crazy idea came to mind.... so we got together with the most generous & professional people of Mooneyes and worked out our dream..... so with further delay we are so proud and pleased to announce that the (( BEST IN SHOW)) winner will be going to the 2012 Mooneyes show in Yokohama Japan...Yes you and your bike will go to the Mooneyes show in Japan and be part of this amazing event for FREE.It is truly a minding blowing show, a incredible experience and very special place to visit.It is very special honor to be an invited guest of Mooneyes and it is a very special honor for Born Free to be part of it too. With less than 5 months to go we are in high gear getting things going...The T shirt contest is over and we annouce the winner on Monday Night! We have been invited by Michael Lichter & the Buffalo Chip to Sturgis this summer. Grant and myself have been working the Born Free booth the last 4 days at the Roadster Show and I think people are ready for a change.This show has a lot to offer...lot's of very cool cars, a neat old museum and a ton of people.They do have motorcycles but not enough and not enough old bikes.The only way to make it better is if people make the commitment to get their bikes in the show.There seem to be a lot of disappointed people complaining about the motorcycles....put your bike in and problem solved.We paid 5 times the amount of a vendor spot at Born Free for our space but it was worth it. We talked to so many people who have old bikes ( young & old) but did not know about the show or there are still so many people interested in riding their old bikes...and actually riding them to a show (( Born Free )). They were blown away at the numbers were are getting and the fact the show is free! The old bikers told us about the runs and shows back in their time that reminded them of what we are doing....makes you feel pretty good. The 69 Shovel chopper was there and it looked unreal...Kiyo has worked non stop to get it ready and it should be completely done in a few weeks.We have some special announcements coming soon...and it's very cool.

Wil is doing a proper early 70's chopper with some heavy influences.The Sugar Bear Springer, Hallcraft front & rear wheels, single down tube frame and some very special paintwork are just a few touches this bike will feature.Wil is coming off knee surgery so he has his work cut out for him....but we know he will delivery.

good moring guys. i love your guys show and all it stands for. last year was my first year going and it was awesome, nothing but good times with friends and stangers talking and enjoying all the bikes. here is my entry for your art contest. it is a scratch board. it's white clay with black paint over it and i take a tattoo needle and scratch the black paint away to get to the white clay. kind of like tattooing but instead of adding ink i'm taking away. i have a small little company here in huntington beach called hooligans pinstriping and desings and paint and pinstripe anything with a flat surface, every bike i do i tell people to hit up your show for the best time of their life. cant wait till this years show. thanks for the good times in advance.

In case you didn't know, Born-Free is about people getting involved to make something happen. From support emails, to offers to help, to building bikes, riding cross the country or CANADA! to get to the show, showing up period regardless of what you are on or creating art.
We thought the open invitation last year and again this year to send your art in was a great opportunity to get those involved that maybe art is their talent where someone else might be good behind a welder or paint gun.
We've been posting it as we get it and you may see you work on a limited shirt, poster, flyer, or who knows what. So put your pen to paper and create!

We are going on #4 and it's been a lot of fun and a huge learning experience and we hope we are getting better every year.We have tried to be as fair and friendly to everyone as we possibly can.The whole idea behind Born Free was to create a free show that was filled with lot's of old motorcycles,friends and goodtimes.I think for the most part we have done that.We have had an open door policy for anyone interested and passionate about the show and wanted to get involved.Some folks show support by being a sponsor..big or small..some a vendor,a builder or just ride out their old bike and enjoy the day... we really appreciate all of you.We are two regular guys with regular jobs,families and responsibilities just like you...we are not anything special or above that.We are not full time promoters or professional's at this.The point I am trying to make is if you wanted to be a Top Sponsor we announced that we were doing BF4 and needed sponsors 3 or 4 months ago, we posted on this blog & others several times about options & deadlines,we offered several sponsor options and payment arrangements,we sent out emails to all past vendors & sponsors about being a vendor this year or being a top sponsor,we had an early bird special for vendors,and we also announced that we doing the builder invite again...So we tried the best we could to get the word out to you.We are sorry that some of you feel left out or are upset but if you knew about the show and what we were doing we needed you to come forward months ago like the others did and say you wanted to get involved.Things are moving so fast and we need to keep deadlines and get tasks done or we won't be able to make good on the promises we have made to our Sponsors and Supporters.We hope you can understand what we are trying to do and will help us make this the best Born Free yet.If you want to get involved as a Top Sponsor you still can, you have missed the first round of promotions but there are still many more things we will be doing and it's not too late to get in. They built a killer 60's style drag/show Triumph ( The Carolina Kid ) which took home an award for best Competition bike.TFMW is doing some of the nicest custom frames,high quality hardtails,oil tanks and a long list of other neat fab & bolt on parts. Born-Free 4 Builders

We know many of your have been wondering about the invited builders we'll have be part of the Born-Free 4...this is a tough area of the show to put together because there are so many talented people out there building bikes. We'd love to invite as many people as we can to be part of this showcase, but we learned last year that can be a lot to handle in addition to putting together the "main" part of Born-Free and getting 3000-4000 bikes into the show and make upwards of 10,000 people happy for a day!

Mike and i also refocused a little more this year when it came to those we invited. We wanted to keep things fresh with new builders and keep the ball rolling with a few that were with us the past show. Talent is strong with people today and that is great that people are pushing themselves and others to do better work, but it's not always about who can paint, weld, design, wrench better than the next guy...there's something inside some people that can make up for some of these other things and it's called passion.

Passion is a big part of Born-Free. It is the passion we all have for old motorcycles that has made Born-Free what it is today and we want this to continue. So each and every person we picked has to do with this passion, sometimes eclipsing "professional" talent, but spirit can account for quite a bit.

SO without further a due, we give you the gentlemen who will be building bikes for the Born-Free 4 Builder Showcase! We'll be following them through their builds both with photos and video up until June 30th 2012!

Last year we have alot of fun with our Flyer art contest,got some fantastic entries and Chris Kallas was the winner. This year we have decided to do a T shirt contest. From today Oct 15 to Dec 31 st submit your best Born Free 4 art and the winner's work will be used on a Born Free T shirt to be release in January. The merch this year will help us pay for the show and this will be a fun way to get you invloved. Kouske from Sunrise Cycles brought 2 bikes (( both swingarms)) to the BF Builder invite.His tidy clean Pan with narrowed tree's,nice lines & killer paint. He also suprised us with this Honda Hauler..I don't even know what to classify it as..but super cool & people were digg'in it..definitely different and nice to see a Japanese bike mix it up.
